ans: 1

show that d/dx(x^n)=nx^(n-1) where n is a +ve integer.

you may use product rule

here ^ represents "to the power"

well.... power rule..... i dont see how the product rule would be used to prove it... you can just take x^2 and use the limit as delta x -> 0 to prove it. once done youd get 2x^(2-1) = 2x.
With product rule, i guess you can do something like d/dx (x^2)(1) = 2x(1) + x^2(0) = 2x... so that could be an example of product rule.

SOLVE
d/dx tanx

d/dx tan x =sec^2 x

by product rule, u can solve my above prob easily as follows

let f(x)=x^n=x.x.x.x.x.......x (n factors)
Therefore, f'(x)=x.x.x...(n-1) factors + x.x.x....(n-1) factors + .... to n terms = nx^(n-1)

Q: d/dx (root x) = ?

d/dx root x = 1/2rootx

Q: d/dx ln(sinx + 3)
