The Rules: the thread should be (roughly) discontinuous, each person creating a stand-alone paragraph on the topic of their choosing, although if you are feeling really adventurous you can pick a recent post, extend its analogies, upgrade its jokes, and maybe even respond to the message. But I get ahead of myself. What do you do? You pick any current topic that people could identify with and you write one paragraph (or a bit more) about your theory behind it. The theory must be scientifically/logically plausible, BUT UTTER NONSENSE. Sprinkle in correctly applied details, subject jargon, settings, names, anything to make it sound authentic, and maybe even try and make a statement out of it. But don't say something that someone else would consider possible. It must be utter nonsense.
It might be proof that Martians started the economic downturn as a first move toward capture of a poverty-stricken earth. It might be proof that Christopher Columbus was an American who discovered Isabella's Spanish realm. It might be proof that elves are crammed up really small inside MP3 player's speakers and made to sing or be punished with electric shocks. Or it might be proof that Microsoft was actually set up by Linus T as a measure against his own OS would shine. But please NO to sarcastic so-called nonsense in Creation VS Evolution or Democrat VS Republican. Save that for Civ Deb.
Hope this works...
