Red Hat 7.3 and System Requirements
What are the basic system requirements for installing Red Hat? Installed it on an older P166 with 128MB, 4GB hard drive and it was ungawwwdly slow. Are there any reccomendations for swap , boot partitions? I am pretty much a newbie with Linux, but the installation and everything seems very straight forward and easy to follow. Any tips or links would be appreciated.

Most likely its the cpu:most of today's versions are optimized for the newer cpus.What version of RH did you install? The newest versions would tend to run slow on that machine,even with that much ram.
The base requirements are a 386 cpu,32mb of ram.But that's for a system without X.
You could try installing a different window manager like Blackbox or Fluxbox,as Gnome and KDE are resource-hungry and could account for some of the slowness you experienced.
