Unhappy linux for p-1 100 mhz
machine config:
p-1 100 mhz
sis video card.
motorola sm56 internal modem
rest fine

trying to run linux on it
tried red hat. no vedio card detected
modem not able to configure
please help

The following reference may be helpful: http://www.vee90.net/vblite/showthre...?threadid=1247 Unless you are using an older version of RedHat, you are not likely to find direct support for the modem in RedHat. However, the modem can be used in Mandrake 8.0 and in Mandrake 8.2 (with a kernel modification noted here: http://www.angelfire.com/linux/sm56/).

The video card problem is another matter. Perhaps if you posted the model and chipset, we might be able to find a Linux distribution that supports the card.

video card sis 6215
linux versions available 6.2 and 7.2
want to install along with windows
