Software Install
Is there a special feature that allows you to install software not supported for Linux?

Like for our office, we have a law program that keeps track of court dates, meeting, etc. Someone told me that I can use a package called WINE. Are you familiar with that. By the way I am using RH 9.

WINE is a Windoze emulator that runs under Linux. It allows you to run some Windoze programs with varying degrees of success; the only way to know if your application will run properly under WINE is to try it, or to ask for comments from other users who have attempted to run the application under WINE.

There are also other alternatives (such as VmWare) that may provide better support than WINE -- but generally they also cost a bit more. You might also check out http://www.winehq.com/?page=supported_applications to see if your application is mentioned.

Hope this helps.
