Unhappy linux display problem
I am a new user to linux, i installed red hat 9. my problem is the desktop has a one inch margin of blackness on the left side of my monitor. I tried to adjust it under display settings by changing the screen resolution. The lowest setting cut off the desktop and the next one up has one inch of blackness to the left. Can sombody tell me how to change this or am i going to have to leave it like it is?

Hi The same thing happened to me I had to adjust my monitor's display settings using the monitor menu NOT the screen resolution settings. FWIW

This is almost certainly a monitor adjustment (horizontal position, horizontal drive) rather than anything in the display settings of X-Windows. Pastorjim2 has it right, I think.
