Angry Linux Redhat 9.0 install problem
I dowloaded the 3 disk set of linux redhat 9.0 off of the internet (shrike-SRPMS-disc1.iso, shrike-SRPMS-disc2.iso, and shrike-SRPMS-disc3.iso) and i burned them to cd's using Nero Burning ROM 5, by closing the wizard, and going to file --> Burn image, selecting the iso file i want to install, and buring the iso. Now, I tried rebooting and trying to run the install program, but it doesnt boot from the cd!!! I have windows millenium, pentium II, two 4 GB hard drives (I am installing linux redhat on the slave) and 56 mb of memory. How do I get it to boot from the cd rom? I even tried setting my slave drive as the master, but still nothing happened!!! did i burn the cd(s) incorrectly? I went to a website, and it told me that that was what I was supposed to do.... HELP!!!

You need to acess your BIOS and change the order in which your system boots. Obviously you want to boot from CD-ROM before it boots from the hard drive.

56mb of ram. YOu might have some issues running RH9 with that amount of memory. If it doesn boot into the gui, it is going to be really slow. That is just from my experience.

ok, changing the BIOS wont be too hard... I know how to do it... but, just in case, what if the cd's dont boot? could there be a file problem? disk 1 (shrike-SRPMS-disc1.iso) is 608 MB, disk 2 (shrike-SRPMS-disc2.iso) is 645 MB, and disk 3 (shrike-SRPMS-disc3.iso) is 424 MB. I had no trouble burning, so I guess the files are all OK, but i suppose i should try the BIOS first. thanks guys!
