Syquest sparq 1gig on RH
I have a Syquest Sparq parrallel port hardware device which uses 1 gig cartridges. I wanted to know if anyone knew where i would be able to get the linux version of the driver and how i would install this to my computer. I have data stored on sone of the cartridges from a while back and i wanted to be able to salvage the stored data. I dont know if it would be a problem but it was saved from a windows 98 computer, I doubt it would be a problem but there is always a chance of this. If anyone has any experience with this device at all this will also help. I have many different computers in my house and i can test it on any of them, if it is neccessary. I can try useing any version of windows as well If someone knows how to use this on it better than linux.. On my Linux system i am Redhat 9.0 using gnome, reboots are not prefered but if neccessarry I will sacrifice it. Thanks for the help ahaed of time.

Linux, etc.
Although the SparQ is claimed to be compatible only with Windows systems, the SparQ internal is a standard ATAPI (IDE) device that can be accessed under Linux as a hard drive (as can any other ATAPI drive like the Zip, ORB, etc.). The parallel port version should work with the 'ep' driver for Linux available at http://www.torque.net/linux-pp.html.

The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!

Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward. How should ye not fight for the cause of Allah and of the feeble among men and of the women and the children who are crying: Our Lord! Bring us forth from out this town of which the people are oppressors! Oh, give us from thy presence some protecting friend! Oh, give us from Thy presence some defender! [4:74-75]
