IP question
Not sure if this question belongs here but I'm going to ask anyway, I use a chat room to talk about a local baseball team but I keep on getting booted out of it because I brought up a question about a local football team so the admin keeps booting me. Is he doing this through my IP address? If so, is there a way to get around it without changing my IP? How?

The site is hosted on a linux OS.

Any help is much appreciated.

It's possible. But, it's easier to boot you by using your handle (screen name). If you don't use one, delete all your cookies (including the persistent ones), then reboot.

Try logging on again.

I used a different screen name the next time I logged on so I am assuming he is using my ip address. Does that sound right?

I never done that before so I'll have to look in to how it's done. Is it complicated? BTW, thanks and happy b-day this week. This week would of been my father's b-day as well.

Is it safe using a public proxy server?

If I have a Netgear Gateway router shouldn't I be able to control the proxy setting using that?

Here's a list if you need one. Some don't work so just go through them until you come across one that does and that is fast enough. I've found plenty that work.
