Exclamation FreeBSD Net Question
Hi everyone. My great Linksys BEFSR41 router just was fried due to a power surge 2 days ago....so I got a NetworkAnywhere 4 port router now.

I have DHCP enabled here on this router, and ever since I got the new one my internet hasnt been working on my FreeBSD box. No incoming or outgoing traffic.

I've tried modifying the /etc/rc.conf with the DHCP variable, also tried assigning an IP in that file...

When I try to assign an IP in rc.conf, it will take a LONG TIME to boot up and shut down, but when I use DHCP it boots normally. When DHCP is enabled, I do an "ifconfig" and I dont get an IP address, so something is wrong.

I've also tried adding the assigned IP from when I tried it above to the /etc/hosts file, no luck there either.

Please help with any suggestions, as I need this machine up in a few hours.

Thanks a Bunch

-Mark

This turned out to be a bad network card....I replaced with a Linksys LNE100TX and it works fine now.

Thanks
