Smile Wireless for Rhl 9?
I was thinking of going wireless with my laptop its a dell 2650 i have windows xp and tryin to install redhat linux 9 at home
i also wanted to install it to my laptop but wasn't to sure if it work well with my U.S. robotics turbo pc card and router i just got i know it work for xp but does linux support it and is linux any good with wireless if so i think i will ditch xp i used windows all my life but open source community is calling to me and i just cant ignore it! any help is gratefully apperciate it

I dont know about the driver, though there is a wrapper for the NDIS(binary windows) drivers, but if ther is kernel support, all it will take is a recompile.

how do i recompile the kernal that sounds hard im a new to linux

Not really hard. Which Distro are you using, debian being the easiest to recompile the kernel. Read the kernel FAQ on tldp.org (Watch out, it looks *MUCH* more complicated than it is.

thanks Whiteskin ill try that. what linux are u running and is it a desktop or notebook? i got Rhl9 to work on my computer at home still debating to install to my laptop not sure yet might want to run a diffrent distro
