I have a computer with 4 scsi drives and i would like to try several flavors of linux on them. one way is to download the iso files and then burn them to cd then install by cd. is possible do download and install through my dsl conection. this will save the life of my cd drive.

Also you can mount the iso's and install them that way just to a different mounted drive..just requires lots of mounting and unmounting. If you really want to go this method we can discuss it but its a bit of work

you can do an ftp install. At least red hat gives you that option. Red Hat's installation will download the files that you want to install and install them on your machine.

Generally we can't give a god advice without knowing well your experience in Linux.
If you are a newbie, maybe a distro like Fedora will be good for you. I posted on my page (see signature below) some links for installing Fedora.

There are other good distros for advanced users, like
Gentoo (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handboo...ook.xml?part=1)
or Slackware, but as I said, one cannot give you the best answer 'blindly'.

Those are the ones I know of. Not sure about the Red Hat one.

well hiya lynch, my friend, but we must tell this guy that RedHat Inc. came to a dead end with RedHat distro 9 and started the non-omercially version Fedora Core (FC) 1 and 2.
So, for RH9 there are no, other updates to come (I'm a RH9 user).
