Can't change resolution in Red Hat v9.0
I log in as 'root' and open the display properties and try to change the resolution from 800x600 to 1024x768. It states that the changes have been saved and I must restart the computer for the changes to take effect. I do this, and it's still at 800x600.

I run it at "millions of colors" and it is a Matrox Millenium 32Mb video card.

What distribution of Linux and version?
Have you looked at the /etc/X11/XF86Config file to see if changes were actually made? You should'nt have to restart the whole system to have the changes take effect.

Also it's better to specify what videocard you have precisely.
