Installing libxml in Libranet 2.8.1
I'm trying to install libxml2-2.6.9 so YPOPs (it allows your email client to check Yahoo mail) will run correctly. I've unzipped the file and am stuck on ./configure _________

I've looked at ./configure --help and my head is swimming since not much of it is making any sense to me.

According to http://www.xmlsoft.org/FAQ.html#Installati, I'm supposed to ./configure [options] but I have no idea what file I'm supposed to do this with and where it's supposed to go.

Here I thought I was doing pretty well since I managed to install Firefox 0.9.1 and Thunderbird 0.7.1 all by myself

Libranet 2.8.1 (debian-based). I've tried to update it via their admin "get packages by internet" but it doesn't reconize libxml.

erm..with ./configure you don't have to have options...you just need to be in the same directory where you untar'd the tgz etc file and do a ./configure.

then after that you just do a make.

i run debian unstable....and also use yahoopops....
but i used v5 for linux....static libraries...
all i did was follow the install file after i extract from the tarbz file...
worked perfectly for me...if you use the v 5 i dont believe you need libsxml...

Yah, sorry ... just figured that out The point has become moot, though since now the Libranet is freezing during boot at "Real Time Clock Driver". I guess so much for all the work I did on this distro. Guess it's back to Gentoo -- it's the only one I've managed to keep longer than a few hours before messing it up.
