Cool Cheap PCI video card, suggestions.
Hi,

The video card that came with my computer is quite Old, and can only support 800x600 256 colours. I find this anoying as I like to have 1024x768 with at least 16bit colours.

So what video card can I buy that is:

- A) Cheap
- B) At least 1024x768
- C) At least 16bit colour
- D) Will work with my Fedora (Redhat) Linux dist.
- E) Must be PCI

Thanks in Advance

Well, it depends on if you want nvidia, or ati. ATI's linux drivers aren't very good, however, there are open source ones for older cards that should suit you just fine. If it's an nvidia, just pick up the card. Matrox has some really nice 2d xorg drivers too.

Aside from that, as long as it has a name on it, it should work. Mine is running a NeoMagic 256XD and I'm getting 1024x768 @16bit, but then again this is a laptop chipset.
