Hmmm...

Unfortunately, I'm not gonna be a whole lot of help on this one. I got my printer working, but I didn't do anything. I just made sure I had parallel port supported in the kernel, and then tried <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">code:</font><HR><pre>lpr somefilename
and it worked.

Does the hp website have Linux info on it?

apsfilter should work...

try rpmfind.net if you haven't looked yet.

if it's not in rpm, just compile it yourself. it's not that hard.

the actual compile is easy.

say you download "apsfiler-x.tar.gz" for the source. just put it somewehre, untar it (tar -zxvf apsfilter-x.tar.gz") then move to the folder it creates, apsilter-x...

then, su to root... the commands next are as follows:
{code]/home/foo/apsfilter-x# ./configure

/home/foo/apsfilter-x# make

/home/foo/apsfilter-x# make install
you should now be compiled and ready to go... just do a quick search on configuring (i've never done it) and you're set.
