Hello. I just installed linux 6.0 on my computer. when it boots linux asks me for an ID and the password. Well I chose the password during the installation but there was nothing said about an user id. I appreciate your help. thank you LS

Your username is most likely root, or it could possible be a blank username if you missed the box to create a username.

I have the same prob. Can you explain root.
Do i just type in 'root' obviously without the quotation marks?

Hello. Wow this is an old thread. I dont work with Linux very often now, but I believe that by typing root you will gain access to your OS. I hope that helps. Good luck to you. LS
