How do I keep / from filling up? I have 10GB, 1.5 GB allocated to /, /home has over 6GB. I`ve been trying to be careful with the installation of programs so as not to fill / (that killed my last Linux install) yet it
seems I haven`t been too successful. I installed VMware - no problem there. BUT - when I began the installation of the guest OS (Win98), I received an error message that more disk space was needed by VMware. I ran Gnome diskfree and saw that /dev/hdc7 (/) had
2MB left on it! I deleted all the junk in /tmp and was able to get out. It now has about 340MB free but machine performance is now very poor. What can I do?
