I don't use Mandrake but if you don't get an answer soon you can go here - http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...id=30&x=12&y=0
- it's a forum about Mandrake problems only!

What did the expert tell you?
What do you have connected to your usb ports?

Is the z25 listed in the Printer Setup in Mandrake Control Center? If not, try the z35 listing.
USB modems in Linux are apparently not very well supported. A modem with a network port (rj45) works very well.
As far as what dldinstall.run is, I've never heard of it. Do you have a link for it or a readme file?

Does your modem have ethernet? I have SuSE 9.2, and it wouldnt pick up the modem because I plugged it in with a USB cable. I changed it over to an ethernet cable, went into YaST > Network thingie something like that and clicked on detect, it done some stuff... then it worked As for your printer...Lexmark is notoriously incompatible...my Lexmark x1180 won't work...and Im stuck with it now I wanna sell it and buy a new printer with the cash...anyone know of a guaranteed compatible printer with SuSE 9.2?
