C++
I'm trying to compile and run C++ in Fedora Core3 with no success.
C no problem but they are hiding the C++ compiler somewhere.
Does anyone know the command.

Thanks

gcc

gcc file.cc(or whatever you want to name it) -o file

should take care of it

I know that there's also g++ which suposedly is for c++ code, while accepting most of the normal gcc effect stuff. I've not compiled c code on linux so can't much more. Man gcc should give you some more information.

Gcc is not that hard to install if you follow the installation instructions. It is a technology that mutates itself to each target platform (hardware+OS), and as such makes the errant claim of portability. The mutation is to use the target dependent platform header files for the installed compiler, so when it compiles source code, it passes the source code through header file expansion and the target definitions are applied prior to the code entering the compiler proper - thus the target mutation as opposed to purely portable code that needs no modification via target dependent header files to compile.

g++ is the Gnu c++ complier with Gnu extentions for c++.

have you tried "yum install gcc"?
i tried to install superkaramba over the weekend and it looked for gcc and c++ libs and everytime i installed an rpm it looked for another dependency. so what did i do? i did fresh install with "everything" (full). it was time consuming specially the updates (600+) but i installed superkaramba .
good luck.

also, try add/remove packages and see if you can add "development" or just "everything" as the compilers are in the development.
