Linux users seem to actually accomplish
open-source was my virtual salvation...I must say that I enjoy coming to this forum and not having to see machines that need a HJT log parsed...or assistance on spyware, malware removal. If the world only understood there's more to that box of rocks than Windows....sigh. Anyway...I have SuSE 9.1 pro, & only suse 9.1 pro, on an AMD Athlon (ECS m.b.) computer that I would like to have join my home network, that consists of a WinXP Home station, and a Windows Server 2003 (not domain controller, peer-to-peer) station. I would like to be able to share files, the one printer in my house, and the Internet connection. Printer is locally connected to the XP box, and the net connection is routed through the server. The server has 2 NICs for the purpose of using NAT. Do I use YaST to configure my Linux box with the network? And if so, what procedure exactly? SuSE is installed on the machine...just basically, I haven't loaded the stuff on discs 4 or 5 of my 5 installation discs...am I going to need to, to perform this home network task? I appreciate any and all replies.

you can configure it through yast.
the samba packages will need to be installed, but yast provides a nice frontend.
if that doesn't work linneighborhood is another "network neighborhood" style browser.
