Properly Creating Fedora Core ISO CDs from Windows
I have AMD64 machine running Windows XP off a 200GB disk and want to install Fedora Core on my 40GB slave.

I downloaded all five cd files, but I have no idea how I am supposed to "mount" (?) them onto CDRs that will boot and install Linux.

I am clearly new at Linux, but also very eager to learn, if I could only get my disk one to boot I think I would be fine.

Thanks for your help.

The iso's need to be burned to CD as images. This can be done with any burner pplication from Windows since the content of the iso's is irrelevant.

If you don't know how to burn images with your burner application, or you have none installed, Alex Feinman's ISO Recorder add-on will give the built-in XP burner that functionality:

http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/I...r/download.asp

After installing, a right-click of the ISO file will give you the option to burn it to CD.

Or, this small, standalone program should be able to burn those iso images to CD, too.

Thank you very much, I was able to image a CD, but sadly my installation continues to fail. I beleive the boot sector of my slave is damaged and will not boot. Thank you for your help.

But you believe the CD's worked OK?

Remove all the partitions on that drive and start fresh.
