I'm setting up an old coputer and I wanted to put Linux on it as the os. I was just wondering were I got get the smallest vesion for free.

You might want to check this out Ubantu. I have downloaded the Live CD and am learning to use it.

Damn Small Linux is a nice choice. It's small enough to fit onto a small USB pen drive at a whopping 50mb. It can be booted from a USB pen drive or from a CD. Check out http://damnsmalllinux.org/ for more info.

Puppy Linux is another distro that's not a resource hog.
It's not a point -n-click installation, though.
