I am currently running Gentoo x86_64 edition and it runs perfectly. I haven't really run any other distro on a 64bit processor.

Have been using SuSe 10. x86_64 for a while now and havn't had any problems although have yet to see any major improvments over x86. Maybe I just havn't been stressing it enougth.
