Java programming language in linux
I was wondering if there was a java compilier that works in ubuntu linux. Ive been searching but I couldnt find it. any help would be greatful.

Since GCC comes with most distributions I would assume you already have it on your Ubuntu install cd.

I haven't tried it myself, but I'm sure you could download the JDK as an RPM from:

http://java.sun.com/j2se/downloads/

And then use something like Alien to convert it to a Debian/Ubuntu package... they also have just a standard package for any Linux distribution, but again, I haven't tried downloading and installing it.

Sun's and IBM's JDKs should run fine.h
