im completely new to linux, and I was wondering which version is the most user friendly...

also, which do you people reccomend, and what are some sites where i can get linux. i would also like to dual boot. i have two 150gb hard drives, so id probably install it on my other harddrive that doesnt have XP installed on it... is this the right choice?

I'd go with Ubuntu. If you just want to play with Linux, another choice might be for you to just download the free VMWare Server and then just install some Linux distribution on that... that way you can be looking things up on the internet while you configure it...

Actually, I think SuSe has fallen under the evil Novell Corporate spell, and they're starting to make it somewhat a PITA to do some things, multi-media. I'm not sure I'd count it amoung the most "user friendly" anymore.

personally, I think that user-friendlyness is all about definition.

If something incredibly easy and it's overly bloated, is it still user-friendly?
If something works well, and it has everything you need, is it user-friendly at all?

Ubuntu is a good starting place (i just dont like some of the things that they do... refer to their "add/remove programs" program, among other things)
Debian (by itself) is incredibly user friendly if you aren't affraid of text based installers.

Also... you may want to take a look around the net for window managers/desktop environments.
KDE looks like OSx (kinda)
GNOME looks like windows or old MacOS (kinda)
Enlightenment looks even more like OSx (I personally like this one)
XFCE looks like KDE and GNOME put together (in my opinion)...
etc... there are many more out there

P.s. Ubuntu has a few sub-oses that use different desktop environments (Kubuntu, xubuntu, nubuntu, etc...)

(hope that was helpful)
