install ubuntu
i'm a linux noob i'm planning on doing a fresh install of ubuntu dapper

but i heard that edgy will be released on 10-26.

my first question is, should i install this one temporarily, remove it, and install the new one next month, or should i install this one permanently and just upgrade it to edgy?

cuase i heard that breezy to dapper upgrade had problems. i'm not sure if dapper to edgy will also have problems.

my second question is, after doing a fresh install, what packages/modules should i install if i want to install stuff like fvwm, pam_keyring, and ndiswrapper(bc43xx fix)? (links shows the method that i will be using to install those stuff)

thanks

My advice
Install the Dapper learn how Ubuntu works, it maybe later than 10/26.(dapper was originally to be out in April) Then after the Edgy comes out wait a week or so. It'll take about that long for everything to settle, then read the Ubuntu forums & see if there' alot of reports of problems. if so wait another week. By then all will be well then you can ask inthe Ubuntu forums how to do an upgrade.
