knoppix?
not to spit on other forum contributors, but it seems to me lotusclat is the only person replying? there an internal issue at techguy or something?
anyway, i wondered if anyone knew where to get the dvd distribution of knoppix, i read the welcome page on knoppix startup and it said there was a dvd distribution but at http://www.knoppix.org , there are only cd .iso files?

also what does it mean to have linux-kernel-headers removed in terms of installing a codec? i changed repositories to point at edgy from dapper, could this just be being seen as an update due to the new edgy repositories?

www.knopper.net/knoppix

There are FTP sites that carry the DVD. You'll just have to look through the list until you find one. Many sites do not want to host a file that large on an FTP server (though some still do) and prefer the 'Nix rsync protocol.

You can order the Knoppix DVD if you don't want to download it. I've used this company and everything worked as advertised:

thanks walla, I use osdisc too, or have once, and I've no complaints. I don't really mind d/ling the file though.

Got all my Knoppix from Distrowatch.com.

It has not been regularly updated as other distros. Latest 5.1.1. is 5.1.1 and it is the same wherever site you download from.
