Boot from CD drive
I have a HP Pavillion dv2000 with a intel cetrino core 2 duo running vista. I want to try booting Knoppix from a CD. How do I check if my computer is set to boot from the CD drive, and if not, how do I change it? The reason I ask is, the BIOS that I can access is very limited and has no boot sequence editor.

From a cold start (no power to your computer system), when you turn on your computer, the first screen you see will tell you what key to press (at the bottom of the screen) to get into the BIOS. There you can look around for the section that indicates boot device order or something like that. It should already say CD is first boot device, and hard disk second or after a floppy if you have such a drive. Ususally, the boot sequence is handled, not by an editor, but by keystrokes - look for the help key to figure it out.
