Sounds like a Tutor who's my kind! Shame about Win2000, I'd not used it since NT4, until recently with this box coming with Vista pre-installed (for a win only application) *shooooshshshs*

1. Would be done by configuring a 2nd screen in Sax2, with certain drivers supporting both card outputs (nvidia, matrox, others?) I have such a card but never bothered...

2. Quanta+ - KDE Web development Environment

Have you run the Online Update? You definitely need to download updates to 10.3, it's a free near-bleeding edge product that gets shaken down first ffew months after release. You should be running the 2.6.22.12-0.1 kernel for example (as shown by uname -a).

Are you running KDE4 by mistake (kde4-quanta) ? That's Beta software, use KDE3 for now! KDE4 Quanta is "spinning" the hourglass when I start it under KDE3.

You need kdewebdev3 installed.
Then it's in menu Applicatons->Internet->WebPageCreation-> Web Development Environment (Quanta Plus)

It starts for me and I get the HTML editor, and clicking on the B button causes <strong></strong> tags.

You just installed a beta-test package (as I did when I tried) by mistake.

In the Software manage, Search for "quanta", 2 packages 1 small, 1 larger. Install the larger KDE3 package called "kdewebdev3". Afterwards it should be in Applicatons->Internet->WebPageCreation-> Web Development Environment (Quanta Plus)

In the description it mentions "Quanta", but it bundles in other tools to, KDE4 has moved away from bundles, so QuantaPlus was more obvious to you.

10.3 will be fine, just make sure you use the Online Update, and end up with 2.6.22.12.0-1 kernel not a 2.6.22.9.0-4.

To check you run KDE3 after logging in fire up Konqueror (or another program) and in the Help section click on About KDE and check it says "Release 3.5.7 "release 72.2". Similarly the program has an About, Konqueror will also say "Release 3.5.7...".

OS 10.3 provides KDE4 applications, many of which work, but also a KDE4 Beta Test (which you do not want to take part in currently), for those who are willing to contribute to KDE's Bugzilla. The default install provides a KDE3 environment, with some KDE4 applications which work well under KDE3.
