How to open GUI?
i'm running mandriva with gnome as GUI. anyway, i eventually got it installed and was trying to get the right resolution on my monitor. when i adjusted it, i got told i needed to log out and log in again. so i opened up "log out" then clicked on restart. now when i start up the computer boots up, but the monitor just goes to sleep. so i restart again and go onto safe mode. here i am on a command line and i would like to know how to get to gnome? sorry if it's a simple question, but does anyone know? thanks

Is x server configured correctly?

Bring up your file to check /etc/X11/xorg.conf
