Can't install VMware Tools on Ubuntu
I think I have to be in Text mode, but I have no idea how to do that.
EDIT2: I found out how to get into text mode, only now, I am unable to enter my password for some reason. I can enter my user name in fine, but when it asks for the password, I am unable to type.

EDIT: I know this is the wrong forum for this, but how do I get VMware to resize itself so that I can see everything? I tried the options from the view menu, but none of those changed anything.

Have you downloaded the workstation users manual: Installing and Upgrading VMware Tools?

You can get a download link to it from here.
