Hi,
Just dipping my toes into Linux & have installed Wubi/Ubuntu on to my laptop running Windows XP. Install was slow but easy & both OS work fine.
I understand that linux is more secure than Windows but what precautions do i need to take?
I read in one thread here at TSG that you are OK "if not logged in as root" - how do I find out if I am. I installed Wubi/Ubuntu using its default settings if that helps?

On the "host" laptop I've the usual security progs.

I personally only use my router. I never log in as a root user. I am prompted when root permissions are needed. I use PCLinuxOS, may be different for Ubuntu.
