Hi all,
I've checked out a live disk of ubuntu and I like it, a lot. However, this machine I have, running winxp mce, gets a little bit cranky if I mess around with it's partitions. I have one disk with, one small recovery/EISA partition, which I don't want to loose, as it seems to gorvern everything. One C: (90gig) where windows sits, and one D: also (90gig) Where I can put anything I want.
I'd like to get ubuntu on to the D:, but I'm thinking (1) it's too big a drive for one OS and (2) if I partition the D: I might well loose the use of my recovery partition.
I'd prefer not to have to reinstall everything again, which has happened in the past, when changes were made to it's "drive letter setup".
Any help or advice you can offer, I'll be all smiles.

supplied all the info I needed, and may I say a kind thank you.
I have also, for the now, installed my copy of unbuntu, inside windows. untill I get in touch with my vendor.
I'll work with it from there, but I still need your help and advice and very much so. Please don't leave me alone with these two monsters in the one precarious position.
