Solved: Ubuntu Gnome CD DRIVE
Hello, I installed Ubuntu Gnome on a Gateway PC. The only thing is that the CD-ROM shows in computer, but i cannot mount it. When I try and mount it gives the message "Unable to mount the selected volume". Can anyone help me with this issue?

Which version of Ubuntu - what are your computer specs.? Ubuntu should have auto mounted the CD drive upon installation. I assume you installed Ubuntu via this CD drive? It won't play CD's? Does a thumb drive auto mount when you plug it in? Camera etc.?

Well, it's a Gateway Performance 1000 - Yes I installed via CD - If I plug a flash drive in it works fine. I am thinking maybe it would be easier to use a external cd player. Unless you know of some kind of work around.

I left this out

Quote:
dir[
