Unhappy Solved: Help - new dual boot install but can't log on
Just completed a dual boot install of Ubuntu 8.04 with Vista. Everything went well. Checked disc for errors and it passed inspection. Problem is I can't log on. Something must have been typed wrong or User or Password. How do I repair this????

To log in a Linux like Ubuntu you need to supply a username and the password declared during the installation.

Nobody but yourself have that information.

If you have forgotten them just do a re-install.

If you know how to mount the Ubuntu partition then by running the Ubuntu Live CD you can add a new user and password, thereby saving a re-install.
