Shutdown issue with Mandrake 8
I just installed an older version of Mandrake on my PII 366 Dell laptop. I used the CD rom in it's bay and set the bios to boot from the CD. All is well, with install and set up, but shutdown is problematic!

After exiting the X environment, I get the black screen showing all the "Term" commands sent to the machine. Everything goes well except I get an "I/O error 02:00 [floppy]" and it just keeps repeating the "term" cycle and hangs everytime at the above error. I hard powered-down and replaced the CD with the actual floppy, started and shut down, and it shuts down fine. What the hell is that?

How can I fix it so I can shut down normally with the CD in the bay?

Thanks,
