Question Sony Vaio & Redhat 7.3 & Conflicts
Hi nice forum

Im trying to install redhat 7.3 on my sony vaio

in the bootup i get lots on USB PCI conflits being a newbie to linux any help in getting round these problems will be a great!

When did you install the OS? Didnt you get any error during the installation? Are there any USB devices connected to the laptop?

Post back and we'll try the best to solve the problem...

Hi Pvc9

I get no error error during the installation and i only have the one usb device connected the mouse it also does nto working under X windows i tried lots of configs with the mouse but still no join and that error on the boot up remains the same

also i have a looking in my BIOS nothing relating to IRCs or plug and plau OS the deivces also works fine under windows

I guess Linux has a problem detecting the USB devices and so you are being troubled. Are you sure that the USB support is enabled in the BIOS? Even then plz do take a look at the link below. Its one of the same forums' thread. It might help you understand that linux doesnt like USB devices -
