Question Paul
I like to play with computers and I was thinking of building one, but money is a factor. I seams to me that I can buy one cheaper than I can build it. I saw the e-machines and they are reasonable. the one I saw had Linux but I would like to format the HD and put windows. My question, is an e-machine junk and how hard is it to format Linux?
Thank you for your time Guys.

My experience with Emachines is pretty weak, but, from talking to some folks who own them,I have concluded that for the average user they are fine;for the advanced user who does heavy gaming, etc.they are insufficient at best.So it really depends upon what you plan to do with it.
As far as removing Linux, there are a number of ways to do it.One being to delete the Linux partitions with it's own fdisk utility.Or find the the make of hdd and use thier disk utility to perform the operation.
I sure if you buy the Emachine, you are curious enough to try the Linux for a day or two? Then if you dont like it,proceed with your plan
