Can't uninstall annoying Blekko toolbar
Yes, I know you're going to tell me this doesn't belong in this category. Well, it does.

I recently downloaded something from CNET today and the downloader package installed Blekko toolbar without my consent. I even tried putting in that I didn't agree with their terms and it still installed anyways. Well, I searched about it earlier and guess what?

It's
a
redirector
virus.

I just tried removing its registry files with Malwarebytes but it didn't work. Rebooted and it was still there. IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!

Toolbars don't usually get installed unless you allow them to do so.

There's almost always the option to uncheck and decline to install them.

That applies to toolbars, home pages, search pages, scanners, etc..

-----------------------------------------------------------

Download and save and then install the free version of

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.61.0.1400

SUPERAntiSpyware 5.1.0.1002

Make sure to update their definition files during the install process.

Make sure to uncheck and decline to install any extras, such as toolbars and homepages, they may offer.

After they're installed and updated, restart the computer.

Run a quick scan with each one.

After each scan is finished, select and remove EVERYTHING that was found.

Yes, I already ran a quick scan on Malwarebytes. Then I got the Website Blocker app for Google Chrome and now it shuts off access to blekko.com. Now just to figure out how to stop the extra Blekko tab from opening at the start.

I don't use the Google Chrome browser(and never will use it), so I can't address any issues with it.
