Trojan causing windows explorer crash
OS: Windows Vista Home Basic

The problem first arrose a few days ago when, Windows Essentials had picked up a Trojan, I thought nothing greatly of it and selected to remove it, not thinking I would later need to know the name of the trojan. Done and dusted right?

Not at all as the next day when I went and switche on my laptop and got to my desktop, after a few seconds all icons vanished and it crashed. I am unable to use anything or even open upen Task Manager to see if I can locate it and stop it from working so that I then have a chance in removing it.

It then comes up with a standard internet connection error message "This program cannot display the webpage". Even if I attempt to Ctrl+Alt+Del to try and start the Task Manager, it will appear and then dissappear.

Any help appreciated.

This only occurs during normal mode, there are no problems whilst in Safe mode.
