I have followed every instruction completely. If I have missed something--I regret the error. Anyway, I use Chrome.

I asked you to run OTS & post its log
until you do, |there is little I can do & even then, I doubt it will show what is wrong
in my experience
The only likely cure is going to be uninstall chrome, make sure you take the option to remove all user data.
first make sure that you are not set up to sync chrome with your google account, if you are, set it to stop sync first ( otherwise the backups on your google account will reinstall the malware).
Then reboot & reinstall chrome

I've attempted to download and run OTS five times and I get an error, as follows:

OldTimer Scanner has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Any other thoughts before I uninstall Chrome?

Thank you

uninstall chrome is the only way that you will hopefully solve this

Chrome is a total & utter pain when it comes to finding & fixing addons or extensions
in theory, you can open chrome, use the tools menu/ settings & select extensions & click on the rubbish bin icon beside the extension that you want to remove. BUT experience suggests that many ex=tensions are hidden & cannot be removed that way
