Angry Solved: HELP Serchmaid/Virtual Maid HiJack HJT Log included
I have been hijacked by this annoying Searchmaid/Virtualmaid crap. I have current Adaware, Spybot, SpywareBlaster, IE Beta. There was an uninstall option in the Searchmaid folder but it didnt take care of it. It used to redirect my Homepage, now I have annoying pop-ups about every 10-30 minutes. I am currently running Firefox but have a DSL connection and still get the popups when the browser is not open. Anyone got any ideas????

I need to know what to get rid of. Thanks Again...

Smile How to solve pop-up problem
I too had the same problem last night. I was able to remove everything except those annoying pop-ups. Do the following.

Find .exe files entitled msmsgs.exe or msmsg.exe. Delete them all!

In the Windows folder, find this and delete: popuper.exe. Also find the file called sites.ini. If you open the .ini file, it should look like this:
