so you can ping and get a return. Did you ping the ip or the website? If you pinged the website, it should have given you an ip address. Ping that, then if that succeeds, try entering that in the url bar.

Actually, I'm having a new problem it started last night. Dunno if it's related. My windows explorer is using all of my system resources. I eventually pulled up task manager, and there was one app running I forget what it was called and I killed it. It hasn't come back, but the problem still exists. So I ended the windows explorer process, but if I reboot Explorer will still use all my resources. Everything seems to run fine after ending explorer. Except I have to run off of task manager. Anyway somethings up.

what's odd is that there are only to 04's in your hjt log. That's the entire log, right? If you could, post another one, and let's get an expert to parse it.

I still don't see anything in there, but that doesn't mean it's not there. You basically need to wait for an hjt expert to parse your log and make sure that nothing is amiss in there.

What are the two url's you are trying to get to? I want to try to hit them.

I think i might have miscommunicated. I'm not trying to get to anything anymore. My new concern is that windows explorer is using all my resources, and when you asked me to ping the website last night I thought you meant this website. I wasn't having a problem connecting to url's. That was just some background on a recent trojan I had. What I was having difficulties with was pc anywhere, and direct connect using msn messenger. I couldn't get those to recognize my connectivity, but now I have the problem with windows explorer, and I'm not sure if these cascading problems are related or what.

which is why, at this point, it's probably best to wait for an hjt expert to take a look at your log......again, nothing major jumps out at me, but you never know.

Interestingly enough, I did a full norton scan less than an hour ago, but 10 minutes ago it picked up the busky trojan. Something's loading things on my computer. I'm trying to resolve busky right now. this is the hjt now looks the same to me. Thanks for your help help though I appreciate it.

try this and see what happens:

First download AVG Anti-Spyware from HERE and save that file to your desktop.
This is a 30 day trial of the program
  1. Once you have downloaded AVG Anti-Spyware, locate the icon on the desktop and double-click it to launch the set up program.
  2. Once the setup is complete you will need run AVG Anti-Spyware and update the definition files.
  3. On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the "Update now" link.
    • Next select the "Start Update" button, the update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  4. Once the update has completed select the "Scanner" icon at the top of the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
  5. Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Quarantine".
  6. Under "Reports"
    • Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
    • Un-Select "Only if threats were found"
Close AVG Anti-Spyware, Do Not run a scan just yet, we will shortly.
  1. Reboot your computer into SafeMode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter.
    IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while AVG Anti-Spyware is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess:
  2. Lauch AVG Anti-Spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
  3. Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab then click on "Complete System Scan".
  4. AVG Anti-Spyware will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time.
    Once the scan is complete do the following:
  5. If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all actions"
  6. Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
  7. Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where you saved that file, this is important).
  8. Close AVG Anti-Spyware and reboot your system back into Normal Mode and post the results of the AVG Anti-Spyware report scan.


Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan
  • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
  • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report

In addition to the AVG log and the Panda log, please post a new HJT log as well.

I'm doing the active san now.
I dl'd avg to a folder. Hope it wont matter cuz I don't have a desktop.

Sorry, I got those twisted somehow. stopped scan and will run avg. Heres the rub I can't run in safe mode. Don't know why. It just doesnt give the option only windows and restore, but I'll do everything save for the desktop and safe mode.
