Exclamation Solved: I have a stubborn Vundo virus!
I have a really subborn Vundo virus! I've tried Vundofix and VirtumundoBeGone and it's still in my system! The are ads popping up every time I go to a new website and the computer is extremely slow. I followed the instructios on this page http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic18610.html and it didn't work!

I will post my HijackThis:

Please visit Combofix Guide & Instructions for instructions for installing the recovery console and downloading and running ComboFix:

Post the log from ComboFix when you've accomplished that along with a new HijackThis log.

Important notes regarding ComboFix:

ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making it the default browser. This can easily be changed once we're finished.

ComboFix also prevents autorun of ALL CDs, floppies and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you, please let me know. This can be undone manually when we're finished.

Note: During this process, it would help a great deal and be very much appreciated if you would refrain from installing any new software or hardware on this machine, unless absolutely necessary, until the clean up process is finished as it makes our job more tedious, with additional new files that may have to be researched, which is very time consuming.

Also, please do not run any security programs or fixes on your own as doing so may compromise what we will be doing. It is important that you wait for instructions.

Open Notepad and copy and paste the text in the code box below into it:

Code:
File::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\phcsjald.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\uyqlpwtu.tmp
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ceipqfnm.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\gbyoydtv.ini

Registry::
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
"AppInit_DLLs"=""
Save the file to your desktop and name it CFScript.txt

Then drag the CFScript.txt into the ComboFix.exe as shown in the screenshot below.

This will start ComboFix again. It may ask to reboot. Post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThis log.

Here is the log.
___________________________________________________________________________
And also, I have another problem. After I ran ComboFix, the avast icon in the taskbar won't appear! I tried repairing it and nothing happened.

Also, on this page: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=37031.0, it says that Combofix might cause this.

"1. Check the option in the Appearance tab of settings.
or
2. Repair your avast installation through Control Panel.
or
3. Make a link to ashdisp.exe in your startup folder
or
4. Add the path to ashDisp.exe into a value named avast! in the Windows Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"

I tried option 1 & 2 and it didn't work.
I already have a link to ashdisp.exe in my startup folder.
I already have path to ashDisp.exe into a value named avast! in the Windows Registry key.

I don't see what could be the problem..

Do you actually have the ashDisp.exe file in the Avast4 directory at this location?

C:\PROGRAM FILES\ALWIL SOFTWARE\Avast4\ashDisp.exe

As well as in this location?

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ashDisp.exe

I have an ashDisp application in the Avast4 folder, but an application is the same as an .exe file, isn't it?

I didn't have ashDisp.exe in the startup folder
Should l I just copy and paste the one in the avast4 folder to the startup folder?

I'm not sure what you mean but I assume you probably don't have file extensions showing if all you're seeing is ashDisp?

Yes, please do that and then reboot and let me know if the icon is back.

Recently, all the signs of the Vundo virus seems to be not appearing. Do I still have traces of the virus? I think that ComboFix might have gotten rid of the virus.

Sorry for duble post but while I was writing my previous post, avast came up saying I have an adware. So I guess Vundo is still in my computer (ironic...). What should I do with all the stuff in my virus chest (picture attached).

I'm sorry but I can't open that attachment. Can you use WinZip or the XP compression utility, or WinRar please?

I don't have WinZip or WinRar. Should I download a trial anyway even though you said this?
