 Solved: Trojan (Pandex) Removed! Thanks for the forums! My father's Toshiba Satellite a105 Laptop computer continually spits out many, many emails to people he does not know. His ISP recently shut off his Internet access due to the high volume of the outgoing spam (don't worry, it's back on now). Norton tells us it is Trojan.Pandex and that Norton has contained the threat. It, unfortunately, has not.  I have tried SpyDoctor, Norton, Adaware and maybe one other program to try to detect the origin of this threat, to no avail. Norton tells me that there is a file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers that appears but I never can see it.  The file name changes each time, but is always in the format WIN%%##.SYS where the %s are letters and #s are numbers. For example, I've had winus53.sys, winmu64.sys, winvd20.sys, winwe53.sys, windk42.sys, winlt20.sys, winqc20.sys, windl10.sys, etc.Internet Explorer and Outlook are my father's main communication applications on his Windows XP Media Center Edition computer. This is not the only malware infecting the computer over the last few days. According to Norton, Trojan.blusod, Joke.Blusod, Downloader.MisleadApp, and Hacktool.Rootkit were also present. One (or more) of the applications was the "AntiVirusXP 2008" virus and, with the help of a few diagnostic tools (SpyDoctor, Norton Internet Security) I manually removed the offending files and registry keys. Hopefully I didn't mess anything up!  I cannot seem to find the proper way to maually remove this emailing trojan. I would appreciate any help you could give.
