Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4EFB-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

I've never had anyone with this problem.

I think if I were sitting at the computer I would remove IE7.

Next run IEFix http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm

Next go to Tools, internet options, advanced, Restore defaults.

IE7 Instructions
I was successful with 1 of the 3 instructions:

1. When in "add/remove programs", IE7 shows up but there's no option to "remove". When I attempted to go into my computer/local drive/programs in an attempt to remove the components that way....same symptoms applied: I would click onto "local drive" and it would immediately bounce me back to the main "my computer" screen.

2. I downloaded and ran the IE fix tool, but it said "IE7 not supported".

3. I was able to go into "internet options/tools/advance" and select "restore defaults". It cleared out all cookies and such and reset IE to factory settings, but behavior is the same. All clicks quickly kick me back to start page when attempting to navigate say Y! News.

Important to note that this overall odd behavior applies to IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, iTunes, my computer wizard, Picasa3, and I'm sure countless other apps I have failed to try. The one and only app that's working is that quirky ATT/Y! browser, which I think was built with IE as the backbone.

I'm the least technically savvy person you'll have on this great board, but I'm wondering if I should just backup my docs and reinstall windows? Just thinking outloud. ANywho, thanks for your support and continued patience. I'd sure like to get this figured out.

Happy New Year!
