Virus infection not going away
Hi,

So by mistake I clicked a file called new folder.exe
Though Spyboc S&D's teatimer caught the startup modification attempts (which I denied) the virus still infected my system.

I had Sophos AV and firewall installed which were disabled and now does not start at all. I'm uninstalled it for the moment and reinstall it once I can find the cds

I checked my system using Spybot, HijackThis (I have attached the logfile with this post), Avast (all fully updated) and it does not show any lingering sign of the infection (System Restore is also disabled)

However, even after all this, Firefox is grinding my system to a halt. Literally. It constantly causes my system to use 100% cpu. Same with Opera.

I also use VmWare with Linux installed (Ubuntu 8.10) and even that uses almost 100% cpu

All this never happened earlier and now seems to be almost always. Only IE is barely usable. But even it takes a lot of the CPU
No other app is.

Please help me or I'm going to get hell at work.. What do I do?

Ps. I also realized that a couple of days back I installed windows XP SP3. Just in case it is relevant. But this was before the virus infection and the system was working fine until then.
