| Hi, I've noticed some random pop-ups that seem to pop up when I open a browser or go to a new website, etc... I have a sneaky feeling it isn't actually online, however, just triggered by what I do. I think it might also be triggered by what I do offline, as well. Close to 2 weeks ago I realized I had downloaded some malware, but it was pretty obviously a certain type. I can't remember the name of it, but it was an fake anti-virus alert that was disguised to look like a windows program. I realized this right away and looked it up. I found a program (malwarebytes anti-malware) that seemed to find it and remove it. Since then I've had some trouble with my internet, it won't open pages or run certain functions (like in my email) and I just thought I needed to restart my computer, which I did, but it didn't change. It wasn't until today that I noticed the pop-ups. So far I've had at least 5 or 6, 2 or 3 of them were the same one. Here is my log, please let me know if you need any more information. I would really appreciate help with this since it is a computer at my place of work. EDIT: I also can't seem to access my Task Manager, which may be related to this (I also wasn't able to access it when I noticed that first fake anti-virus trojan) Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 10:31:48 AM, on 3/10/2009 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16791) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\S24EvMon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe C:\Program Files\Broadcom\ASFIPMon\AsfIpMon.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft Small Business\Business Contact Manager\BcmSqlStartupSvc.exe C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\EvtEng.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\NICCONFIGSVC.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\RegSrvc.exe C:\Program Files\Photodex\ProShowGold\ScsiAccess.exe C:\Program Files\SigmaTel\C-Major Audio\WDM\StacSV.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Wacom_Tablet.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllhost.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\WLKeeper.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllhost.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\WTablet\Wacom_TabletUser.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Wacom_Tablet.exe C:\Program Files\Apoint\Apoint.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\Program Files\Apoint\ApMsgFwd.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\RUNDLL32.EXE C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\quickset.exe C:\WINDOWS\stsystra.exe C:\Program Files\Apoint\HidFind.exe C:\Program Files\Apoint\Apntex.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\bin\ZCfgSvc.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\ifrmewrk.exe C:\Program Files\Wave Systems Corp\Services Manager\DocMgr\bin\docmgr.exe C:\Program Files\Wave Systems Corp\SecureUpgrade.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\KADxMain.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch.exe C:\Program Files\Roxio\Drag-to-Disc\DrgToDsc.exe C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD DX\PDVDDXSrv.exe C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\Acrotray.exe C:\PROGRA~1\PHASEO~1\CAPTUR~1\DCIMImp.exe C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Documents and Settings\gpalmer.CAPTUREDIMAGES\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\Dot1XCfg.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Macrovision Shared\FLEXnet Publisher\FNPLicensingService.exe C:\Program Files\Digital Line Detect\DLG.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\Program Files\Toshiba\Bluetooth Toshiba Stack\TosBtHsp.exe C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Photoshop.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Updater5\AdobeUpdater.exe C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R1 - | Hey... Just updating this thread since this is a computer at work on the server and very important that it gets fixed. My boss ran "Malware bytes Anti-malware" again and it said it found something and deleted it, but I still can't access my task manager, so i'm a bit skeptical. Do I need to generate a new report with the hijacker? |
