Question Virus/Spyware problem - maybe Win32/Sdbot ??
Hi,

I am on a Dell Dimension 8200. One problem is that I cannot connect to the internet. I had my router and modem checked, which appear to work out fine. I only have a wireless connection and no way to directly plug into the internet. I am pretty sure there is spyware/malware on the computer creating problems. Also, the computer will randomly shut down with a message that goes something like this:

"DCOM server process launcher service terminated"

I was looking through the computer and under the C:\ drive there are some funny looking executables. One is 3.exe and, when I search this online, it seems that it is probably part of a virus (maybe a downloader???). Also, when I go to C:\WINDOWS\Temp there is a file called bb021908.exe and I think this file is malware.

Lastly, one of the windows security windows comes up and says that Win32/Sdbot is a major threat on the computer (or something to that extent).

I have a bunch of virus fighting tools on a disk including, SpyBot, Ad-Aware, AVG, HJT, mbam, RootkitReveal, and more...

I ran Hijack This and got the following log:

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

Other problems I forgot to mention above:

- on startup, an error occurs sometimes that says (behind the message command prompt shows up):

c:\gtb.exe
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS:0dcc IP:020b OP:63612c636c Choose 'Close' to terminate the application

- also on startup, an error occurs says Data Execution Prevention - Microsoft Windows followed by:

Name: Generic Host Process for Win32 Services
Publisher: Microsoft Corporation

And, I forgot to say thank you for your time in the above post. Really, I would just like to say ahead of time thank you for any help! It is much appreciated!
